So the big question that everyone wants to know, AM I ELIGIBLE FOR JOBKEEPER 2.0? Let's have a really quick look. It's important to note that previous eligibility doesn't automatically transfer from 1.0 to 2.0, however your enrolment will carry over. Similarly, you may now be eligible where previously you had not been, and you would need to enrol.
Firstly, ask yourself, am I DOWN 30%? (for aggregated turnover $1 billion or less) DOWN 50%? (for aggregated turnover $1 billion or more) or DOWN 15%? (for ACNC registered charities, other than universities and schools)
If you are, then you're on your way to the next steps. If the answer is a bit more tricky than that, you might need to use Alternate Testing to determine your eligibility
Next, employers and businesses will need to nominate the rate they are claiming for the eligible employees and/or eligible business participants. There are two rates (tiers) of payment - tier 1 and a tier 2
The Tier 1 rate is for eligible employees who were working for 20 hours or more a week, on average, in the four weeks of pay periods before either 1 March 2020 or 1 July 2020. It also applies for eligible business participants who were actively engaged in the business for 20 hours or more per week on average during February 2020.
The Tier 2 rate applies for all other eligible employees and business participants; those working under 20 hours.
